Hey BHW hope you are having a nice day
Do you guys know any wordpress alternatives? Cuz it's 300 bucks upfront to use the good themes and custome themes that @Festinger here provides for free right?

No it's not. WordPress is free, open source. Lots of free themes on WordPress.org. no idea where you got that nonsense from

I tried uploading a custom theme from the Download section on BHW and I couldn't for some reason. It says I need a business account?

I think you are getting confused between wordpress.com and your own hosted wordpress site.

If you have your own hosting and domain name you can install wordpress free of charge and install any number of themes yourself
Oh I didn't know that, so I need to do it via namecheap?

Edit: Nvm just saw the link thanks alot!

Do you have hosting with namecheap? If so then yes you can install wordpress with them.

I've never used namecheap for hosting so I don't know for sure but many hosts will have auto installers that set up the site and database in just a few clicks. All you need to do then is log into the backend and start making changes.

Ok thank you! And no I don't have hosting with namecheap, I just get my domains from there and the option is available.
What hosting services would you recommend then?

OP You need WordPress.org not .com! Also you install WordPress inside your hosting dashboard usually in your Cpanel! You also need a domain before installing WordPress.

There are tons of tree themes and plugins for WordPress! Also the top premium themes cost up to $60. Never saw anything for $300!

Plenty of hosting services on market thread. Otherwise do a search... depending on the type of site you have you probably want a quality host unless it's a churn and burn - so most of the $1 hosting probably won't work because of bad neighborhoods.

You can get a managed wordpress site if you don't want to be bothered with security and updates, otherwise if you know how to handle all that just setup a stack somewhere like EC2 to save on costs.

Just stay away from EIG stuff

EDIT: if you don't have domain setup, and you have hosting/cpanel access, just setup a staging site. It will be your Ip address and cpanel username - e.g.: 127.0.0.1/~username

that way you can stage up a theme, content, etc until domain ready to go live or move over from previous host

You can get domains from Namecheap and hosting at Siteground. Namecheap gives free WHOIS private protection for which Godaddy charges $10/yr extra.
Many hosting companies (including Siteground) give 1 free domain when buying hosting.
Monthly cost of hosting should be less than $10/mo for normal people like us. If you are paying more than that, something is wrong.

Hello,
Most hosting companies allow you to install WordPress from their cpanel with one click.
I would recommend you to go with GoDaddy. They also have WordPress hosting.

The themes and plugins for WordPress I provide are free to use. You will need a hosting, domain name and WP installation for this.
But other members already explained that to you ;)

You can download the premium themes and plugins from this thread, free of course.
