Wordpress Alternative

WordPress can be the best option depending on your specific needs. However, other CMS platforms like Drupal and Joomla provide more advanced features and security, while Ghost and Grav are faster and simpler, you can pick depending on your specific needs and technical expertise.

Not even close to wordpress. I am sure no one even heard of it.
Why would I want to use a CMS that no one's heard of? Sounds like a nightmare to troubleshoot any issue that arises. Documentation goes a long way.

squarespace might be good.
Yeah I like that easy to use site builder but I have two down sides with it;

a) I checked the SS site of paigebrunton(com) when you do a browser refresh the hero block on any page jumps a little bit not much a little.
b) bigges downside of SS is you not see a website when you type in the brand name that shows up with multiple serp listings from one domain. I tlooks like the SS categories are not dynamic as it is in wordpress and that you not have access to their robots.txt file to set categories to index.

But both are necessary to get multiple serp listings, multiple serp listings are static content hubs who linking to the dynamic category pages who shows a page description on frontend the user will see. And all categories and subcategories linked well together (silo)
With this site structure you will get multiple serp listings it not looks like you can do this with squarespace, correct me if I'm wrong.

I must be a chrome browser issue too, when I'm on the wp admin dashboard and do a page refresh it jumps too ???

Any wordpress theme I use hase this bug. No content on category or page (except demo content on Home page) A header without site title, logo and navigation; doing a page refresh - the page jumps (scrollbar is showing)

Using a header with logo, site title and navigation- page flickering form left to right (in width) scrollbar is showing on all pages and categories and click on the navigation menue item the nevigation block jumps.

I have this damm bug on all themes I tries (tried 20 themes) no matter if it is a standard theme or blocks or a starter theme.
Make the header and all pages wider in width form 1000 10 1400 px not solved the problem.

Millions of people using this free wordpress cms and nobody knows what is the damm culprit that I have page flickering and navigation block jumps ?

You know I have two separate websites with the same domain name (one with com , the other with net domain) the second net domain site sits on a ionos vps with free cloudpanel (has varnish enabled) on this page with a modern wordpress blocks theme= no issues no page flickering and navigation jumps ! So I think that has to do with my webhosting (it's fast speedypage) who has bunny cdn edge cache include. No matter if the cdn is enabled or not (is off in the moment) I have this flickering and jumps issues.

So then bunny cdn would be the culprit here? Or is a preloader needed? I will try install a cache plugin with preloader see if that will help.

Happy sunday !

Yep installed the fastest cache plugin with standard settings +preload cache that solved this problem ! Juccchuuuu!
Set the theme header block to left (logo, site title and menue is all left) then set margin and padding to 20px and set block spacing to 190px to have space from the sdite title,so the navigation block sits more centered on the website which looks fine.

That was the culprit = the cache / or preloader. I think my webhoster is not good about fine tuning setting for bunny edge cdn (my theory) dear guys cou can't imagine how relieved I am.......

On the other side I must agree having two separate domains is hell lot of work ufffff,..........better I use one domain and build my site structure so that I get multiple serp listings.

Peaceful sunday evening rest to all !

Ufff you solve one problem in wordpress and get another new........oh my gosh....
Now I think the block spacing of 190px for the navigation block is too much, the mobile hamburger toggle sits in the hero section on mobile view. But without block spacing for navigation block align it with the side panel editor (left, right, center) not works, becaus ethe navigaiton block is stuck with the site title, looks weired.

I try to solve this tomorrow. Also with the blocks side panel editor aligning the navigaiton block not works, no matter if I set it to center, left, right. Oh my god......

Good night guys !

Can anyone suggest a WordPress alternative that is open-source? We have a website, and it has started growing and we noticed slowness. After a little research, it looks like the WordPress database does not support indexing and it can be very bad for blogging sites with the community.

Can you suggest any open-source alternatives?
wix builder is good as well , I had created my news sites over wix mate .

If you're looking for open-source alternatives to wordPress, consider ghost, joomla or drupal known for its powerful features and scalability. For a lightweight option, try October cms, built on Laravel, or Hugo, a fast static site generator. Grav offers a flat-file approach for simplicity and speed, while typo3 is great for enterprise-level sites.

All these systems are to complicated for me ....... Another thing that drives my nerves, every week there is a wordpress update , oh man.....

Happy monday !

Yes you know I like squarespace so much so easy to use. With the new wordpress blocks editor it tooks me 5 months to understand how all things now work in that blocks wp version. It was a hard nut to learn for me. A lot of give ups, headaches, dizziness....

But from the perspective of SEO, WP beats squarespace I tell you why;

You want achieve multiple serp listings with your single domain in google? Then forget SS, I not saw till today one SS site who has multiple serp listings, exclude some who have the feature snippet showing at the top in google.
I bet, the SS team not allows you to index your categories and you not have access to the robot.txt file.

So with that, Wordpress has the better most felxibility when it comes to SEO compare to squarespace.

I found a better domain setup a new fresh wordpress installation with the same cache plugin as I had with the previous domain, the same theme, no luck today, I have page jumps a lot, the page jumps when I doing a page refresh, the navigation menu jumps when I click on a menu item, hence the whole wordpress admin dashboard jumps on a page refresh !

I told the webhost support to disable bunny cdn, the checking it now , told me the cdn was not active so I must wait....

I wonder that you guys not face the same issues? No matter which theme I use - I get these damm page jumpings!
Wordpress now makes me tired and sick what is wrong with that cms ? It drives my nerves

I have PHP version 8.2 will set it to 8.1 or 8.3 solve this issue ?

Oh dear blackhat people what a nightmare, I could cry. I have a good webhosting (recommends here on BHW) they removed again the bunny cdn- no luck my wordpress admin dashboard and the website jumps a lot up and down , flickering when I click on navigation menu items, not know what should I do now......

Go to cpanel set the PHP version down from 8.2 to 8.0 and installed the new twenty-twenty five theme and now it works no jumps no menu flickerings! But that theme not has beautiful patterns to build my site....
The previous theme was the so called "world wide best free theme" in the wordpress community: Neve FSE, it looks like this theme is not compatible with PHP version 8.0 or something like that?

Now I make a break tomorrow is a new day must search for a better theme with beautiful predesigned patterns. My thoughts are this; I know I get a lot of hate here, the whole wordpress system is weak, when you theme not supports the new PHP version it will break, updates themes, plugins every week, plugins can break it, whatever and whatnot.

Then we look at Drupal (too complicated for me) or Squarespace a "closed" system all is well integrated and works together, in wordpress not, plugins can make a break, themes, PHP version.........i ssomething for hobbyists who have nothing much to do, but not for business people who not have the time to checkup all the nonsense around that WP system.

It's so sick. Rapid Improvement is urgently needed !

Consider using Ghost for lightweight, open-source blogging or Hugo for a static site generator that’s fast and highly scalable.
