Can anyone suggest a WordPress alternative that is open-source? We have a website, and it has started growing and we noticed slowness. After a little research, it looks like the WordPress database does not support indexing and it can be very bad for blogging sites with the community.

Can you suggest any open-source alternatives?

Hugo is also good opensource framework.

You're completely wrong here WordPress database can be tuned to perform much better by using different options:
Database indexing with plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/index-wp-mysql-for-speed/

In terms of performance redis object caching does help a lot.

Your server, cdn, caching configuration, media all contribute to overall performance.

WordPress isn't bad for large sites in terms of performance it's just that it's a highly customizable framework and one can tune to suit their needs.
Be it large blogging sites, ecommerce sites, community & membership sites.

you can try joomla that is one of best
 
Wix is the best platform for building websites and it's particularly well-suited for bloggers.
 
WordPress can be the best option depending on your specific needs. However, other CMS platforms like Drupal and Joomla provide more advanced features and security, while Ghost and Grav are faster and simpler, you can pick depending on your specific needs and technical expertise.

I would recommend Drupal and joomla.
 
Craft CMS is a WP alternative, but not as many options for extensibility via themes and plugins.

I´ll second this answer, and if it is fast enough for Nasa and The Whitehouse, I bet it is fast enough for you.
 
Dear people,

I'm really at my wits' end, I'm getting depressed... I'm still having trouble with the WordPress blocks theme, the celestial theme here. If I do a page refresh, the whole page jumps. All pages have the same height (no content block at the moment), header and footer on all pages are the same.

Kadence and Gutenverse plugin deactivated
The logo has been removed from the header, only the site title is there, the navigation menu has been removed (it's short with 5 menu items but deep)

No luck, the pages jump when I refresh. Note: if the whole page jumps when I refresh, then the navigation menu also jumps when you click on a link!

The problem exists with all blocks themes and with all starter themes. I'm at my wits' end, I've been struggling with it every day for 2 months without success to finish my website. It's just sickening, this kind of thing with this CMS. What's wrong?

I have Bunny edge caching included with the web hosting but it is currently deactivated. The host will activate it again when the website is finished being built. Could that be the reason?

Not even close to wordpress. I am sure no one even heard of it.
 
Now I found out that the header, logo, site title have a huge padding top, set padding top, margin, padding bottom to = 0
The same with the footer

Then on my Home page set the hero block the same padding top, margin, padding bottom to = 0 and each block section on the home page too. No luck ,the whole page jumps on refresh, do you guys not face the same problem or you not see ot ?

Now I will do a last check go to the editor - templates and check if the templates I use (for blog, page, single post and home page) has any padding,margin, top settings who could cause this silly page jump. Yeah people this is a world class cms right ya ?

I see when I check my page in bing = no page jumps and in Firefox no page jumps.
Is this a chrome browser bug ? I have a mac mini 2012 catalina chrome shows me at the top message that they stop chrome support for catalina.

What do you think any tips?

Installed diable lazy loading plugin and now so far no jumps on page refresh may be this was the culprit , will see.....checking later again.
When I check the site of Dan Lok with chrome browser and do a refresh the whole page jumps and shows a white blank space.
The squarespace site of paigebrunton(com) has little jumps from her hero block when I do a refresh.

Both sites have their jumps with bing browser too. And bing loads websites veryyyyy slow within 10-20 seconds.
Is this the normal modern tech world reality guys ?
