Looking for an easy way to recreate my autoblog setups now that yahoo pipes is set to crap out at the end of this month. Regarding my unique setup and pipes implementation:

    1. Pipe pulls a random image from a folder on my website.
    2. Pipe creates random title using keywords I setup initially.
    3. Pipe outputs this in functional RSS format which is used to send content to blogs via feedwordpress.
    4. Pipe randomizes everything well and also limits output to only 1 item ... which is 100% unique every time, i.e. unique title and 1 image from a possible selection of over 1000 images.
    5. My pipes use all of the following modules - rss item builder, loop, string builder, xpath fetch, basic math modules like date builder to create random numbers.

From what I can see there is no easy way to complete my needed functions other than yahoo pipes, but I'm hopeful someone can show me some workarounds or alternate working solutions.

What I really need is an RSS feed which consists of random title, random image from hosted server (this would work even better perhaps if I could put ANY random embed code here, i.e. I'd like to use video embeds in addition to images) ... and that's about it. There must realistically be an easier way to automate the creation of my rss feeds. Thanks to anyone who can provide or point to better or working solutions.

From what I can see, the only problem here is the title. It's hard to randomize it and the meta.
I can only suggest you try adding your images from folder to twitter or tumbler using mass submitter and then use iftt or twitter to rss and make a rss.

How complex are your titles? Can you paste a couple examples?

If you think my AB setup was easy, I'd be happy to show you exactly what these pipes do. You'll quickly discover that pipes was able to do things that are programmatically difficult in an easy intuitive workspace. The titles are not the only problem.

These pipes completely randomize the images(I have well over 2000 images in each HOLDER folder for each of 22 auto-blogs). The pipes select one of those images, and inject it into a properly formatted html code to display the image. The pipes do not randomly select 1 of thousands of pre-written sentences. The pipes literally construct the titles word by word using a homemade "spinning" pipe.

What I need to be able to do is programmatically recreate the pipes functions. I spent at least 6 hours working on this yesterday, and there is nothing on the market that even comes close to delivering the versatility that pipes offers. I need a solution, and Pipes is completely done as of Sept. 30, 2015, so after that - my sites die as do the revenue they generate. Some may miss this is a big opportunity to fill the gaping hole Yahoo is leaving by discontinuing the only service they ever offered that was worth anything at all.

In a nutshell my solution must accomplish the things below:

    1. Pick random image from folder and inject into RSS <description>.
    2. Spin 100% unique but relevant title and inject into RSS <title>.
    3. Must contain a valid GUID or TimeStamp element.
    4. Must require no intervention on my part, i.e. once the solution is in place the RSS feeds are always valid, and always different anytime the feed is queried.

So I agree this should be easy ... I'm still hoping someone can show/tell me how within the next 50 days or my entire AB setup is moot. Thanks to those who offered suggestions thus far. It does not help for one to tell me it's easy. If someone can show me it's easy - that's another story.

I believe a possible working solution for my needs is relatively simple to a coder, but I'm not a programmer. I envision a pretty simple process though overall.

    1. PHP file is queried/executed by Cpanel Cron on schedule which will:

    a) Create/Overwrite an existing .rss file with three primary fields <title>,<description>,<guid>.
    b) Randomly generate the title through some spinning implementation.
    c) Randomly select an image url from a database and set <description> to contain appropriate html formatting to display the image from that url.
    d) Set the GUID to appropriate timestamp or mechanism to represent NOW.

With this setup every time the php file runs it will replace the existing .rss file with working and updated content creating a valid RSS feed which can be used with feedwordpress to supply content to a blog. Does this sound like a possible solution to my challenges, and can anyone help with php coding for functions such as - Create File, Extract Url From Database, Set GUID, Create Title From Spinning Mechanism/Database ???

Thanks again for any and all help folks! It is greatly appreciated!

I was able to completely recreate the functions of my yahoo pipes with standard php coding. It was a lot of work for someone who knows very little about programming overall. This thread can be closed since I was able to resolve the challenges, and my auto-blogs will continue to function even after yahoo pipes closes down in September.
