    my blogs have 404 pages and they work but im using some application to look at stuff and it says one site doesnt have one

    Code:
    You do not have a default 404 not found page on your website. Provide a default page that will appear if there is a broken link on your website
    what is it telling me and what should i be doing

    theres nothing in the application to put anything anywhere

    SEIntelligence it is

    Try changing themes on that one site and see if that solves the issue. Your 404 page might be broken, or giving the wrong response code.

    Not sure what the question is, as the software has told you what you need to do.

    What service do you use for checking 404? Maybe it's not correct. Also check your theme folder. it must have file 404.php

    Also, problem can be if your server doesn't return 404 response on 404 pages

    this is my 404.php file. if i type any one of my sites with 404 at the end i get an actual 404 page with that text

    Code:
    <?php global $theme; get_header(); ?>

        <div id="main">

            <?php $theme->hook('main_before'); ?>

            <div id="content">

                <?php $theme->hook('content_before'); ?>

                <div class="entry">

                    <?php _e('The page you requested could not be found.','themater'); ?>

                </div>

                <div id="content-search">

                    <?php get_search_form(); ?>

                </div>

                <?php $theme->hook('content_after'); ?>

            </div><!-- #content -->

            <?php get_sidebars(); ?>

            <?php $theme->hook('main_after'); ?>

        </div><!-- #main -->

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    Go to the site and search for this page http://www.YOURSITE.COM/somerandombollocks12345
    Now I take it that you don't have a page called "somerandombollocks12345", so it should show your 404 page, if it does then everything is fine.
