Well, i have godaddy and bluehost web hosting, but i don't wanna build a multi domains wordpress site on the primary domain. The problem is that the installer told me wildcard subdomain DNS set wrongly. I can't visit my site via http://subdomain.mydomain, but http://primary-domain-ip/subdomain-folder works. Anyone install the wordpress 3.0 via subdomain way on godaddy's/bluehost's non-primary domain?

Appreciate for any help or tips, sorry my bad english

If you have cPanel, you have to add the domain you want to install WP on as an AddOn Domain, then go to 'SubDomains', and create a SubDomain on your AddOn domain with a value of:

    Code:
    *
    (that's an asterix for Wildcard)

Just to be clear, you can't install WP Multisite on a subdomain of your primary domain, but you can install it on an AddOn domain.

In other words, you can't have Multisite at subdomain.primarydomain.com, you have to run it on secondaryaddon.com

    Ty.

I didn't install WP multisite on a subdomain, i just wanna install WP multisite on secondary-addon domain, but the installer told me wildcard is not correct. Of course i added the * subdomain already. That's why i asked this question.

Does that means wildcard subdomain works only on primary domain on default root folder?
