word count on auto load pages

Hi everyone.

While looking at the competition for one of my keywords, I noticed that the top SERP was an autoloading page with other articles just following on as you scroll down the page. (I will try and find a non-related page to insert a link if you're not sure what I mean)

Does google count this as millions of words? (Exaggeration), but could easily run into 10,000s.

Am I stupid to compete with that site or does Gs algos know where the search term article ends and another one starts?
I do not know how to make this sort of page, so I have no idea.

i am assuming the url changes when you scroll down to a new article, which means the word count is only each separate article and not 100s of 1000s of words on 1 page

Going to agree with kontentdruid here. Don't believe Google includes any content that was added dynamically by javascript into their algorithm, but could be wrong.

You are correct. the URL does change, it is not something that i noticed before you said. Thank you

Are you referring to so called "infinite scroll" effect?

If so only the first part counts, usually above the fold, counts.

It's probably display:none by default then switched to display:block by JavaScript and Google delvaues display:none or ignores it completely.
