Wizard's Ultimate Twitter Journey

Wiz, question. What if change delay follow or unfollow from 13-21 to 3-5 seconds, it will be faster? My Twidium slow follow I think maybe if I will change delay follow it be faster

I don't think that's smart, I won't suggest you going under your current delay.

In the end its up to you, but don't be greedy that will kill you.

Totally agree, that would not look natural at all. Twitter is not very strict in most aspects, but following every 5 seconds will most likely raise flags.

I manually unfollowed with chrome extension 1000-2000 followers has been unfollowed during 20-30 minutes. But it was in begging of my twitter journey 2-3 months ago. So maybe it not so bad

Hey Wiz,

Big thanks for helping share such great information with the community, and being disciplined with your updates and attention to this thread.

I have been promoting clients links to content on a CPC basis with my twitter accts and recently one of my clients spotted 80% differences between our reported clicks on Hasoffers (our click attribution solution) and their Google Analytics reports of pageviews, e.g. Hasoffers reported 5,000 clicks in a day and the client saw 1,000 pageviews in GA. Clients understand that not all clicks result in pageviews, but this discrepancy was too high and we are being pressed by the client for good, concrete answers.

We process the client links by appending our UTM parameters to the content links (manual tagging), then those links are shortened at goo.gl prior to Hasoffers processing.

We then compared analytics on GA pageviews vs Goo.gl clicks vs Hasoffers clicks. Goo.gl measured roughly 1/2 of the Hasoffers links. So, if Hasoffer is showing 1,000 clicks/day -> goo.gl is showing 500 clicks/day -> GA showing 200 pageviews/day.

This is a relevant problem because we get paid on CPC, so we need to agree on what click count is accurate and why GA is not seeing the traffic, if its actually there??

My early research suggests that the twitter mobile app (and various sharing activity) screws up the referrer for GA. So, GA by default calls this referrer on this traffic "direct" - which means my twitter accts are not getting credit in clients GA for its referrals and my client doesn't want to pay for the clicks. Moreover, +80% of all twitter traffic is mobile so this is a big chunk of the traffic.

Has anyone running twitter accts seen this? any, additional insight?

Best,

Shawn

Whether or not Google shows something in analytics regarding a visitor is based on the visitor's browser settings, which often does not accurately report the http referer variable.

Check this article out: http://searchengineland.com/60-direct-traffic-actually-seo-195415

That article shows that in one particular case, 60% of "direct" traffic is actually from organic SEO coming from Google ... it just isn't reported as such, because people with certain browser settings aren't showing that they're coming from organic search.

And in your case, people with certain browser settings aren't showing that they're coming from twitter.

Check out the "direct traffic" of your client, see how large it is ... then compare that to days when you send no twitter traffic at all, you'll possibly see that the direct traffic is then much smaller. If that's the case, tell your client that a portion of the twitter traffic you're sending to them being reported as direct traffic (because those browsers aren't reporting the referer variable). However, appending the campaign to the URL should fix the situation, so you're on the right track.

Total gained followers for today: 3 100

Total followers: 353 500

AdSense earnings for yesterday: 10.61

ClickBank earnings for yesterday: $13

Website Unique Visitors for yesterday: 4749

Its kinda weird I am having 3K total followers today, I am planing to start tweeting every two hours in few hours ( I am waiting the old schedule to finish).

I'm having a internal conflict right now, this 3K is confusing me a lot. Maybe I should like tweeting every 90-100 min and see what will happen maybe it will be my golden line.

As for the earnings I did expect this after the viral tweet was gone. I'm just hoping I will not have to much under 10 euros adsense earnings after I change my schedule.

Also you can notice I made another CB sale, it was surprise for me also. I think CB will be my second permanent monetizing platform. I will need to experiment a lot with CB till I find the best way to promote, it will take lot of time till I get there but there is no shortcuts for this one.

Do what you need to do, but my opinion is that its dangerous and you might get banned, eventually.

I have mention this before about the direct traffic, its twitter traffic.
I did a lot of research and its turnout that when opening link via twitter app it will show as direct traffic.
This is not only for twitter its also with IG and other social apps.

Its bet if you are using trackers like if the link you are tweeting is domain,com/article/ you can tweet it as domain,com/article/?tracker=

Probably there are lot of other way to track your links but this is a simple method.

Thanks Wiz, I will give it a shot and report back.

On the prior comment re: "appending the campaign to the URL should fix the situation" I have been appending UTM campaigns - Google URL Builder requires this field - results are showing even fewer GA pageviews in the campaign fields vs the referrer field in the GA reports. So, that is not working in my situation.

Thanks again guys!

Shawn

Hi wizard,

could you update your FL settings here, because you changed yous set up since the start of the thread. Like Following/unfollowing per day and account and how many tweets you send per account and day?

PS: Changed to FL a few days ago

Wiz, how do you think if it ok to use old images from OLD accounts, for NEW twitter accounts. For example 2-3 month ago i`ve used images for my old 10 accounts. If I will create new 30-60 accounts Can I use the same images from old accounts? Especially if I will post what I posted Monday 2 March 2015, (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg) I will post for example 13 June 2015 the same images (1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3.jpg, 4.jpg)? So it will be that ALL my accounts has the same content but with difference 1-2 months. Maybe it`s not good idea?

Are you currently tweeting to your adsense site with all 80? or are you still growing the last ones? (how many you have tweeting to your money site?)

Update

Total gained followers for today: 3 800

Total followers: 357 300

AdSense earnings for yesterday: 9.03

Website Unique Visitors for yesterday: 3498

I am getting my daily followers up, definitively the low followback ratio was connected with the more often tweeting.
I am hoping I will be tomorrow more then 4k in total followers, but will see.

I will promote today ( I will start in few hours ) tweeting about a CB review and I'll hope to make a sale. its kinda a little expensive I think my earnings per sale is $50+.

Just curious, how much hops per sale are you making with dat social traffic?

Ideas about promoting CB products:
1) create 12 diferent reviews in day about the same CB product and tweet every 2 hr
2) instead adsense ads put CB product banner in every article

Today I'm disappointed with the adsense earnings, this earning was stuck for the last 4 hours, like wtf 4 hours and only moved for 20 cents.

I am considering unchecking the option in FL to make every url unique. I have observed only the tweets where I don't use this option (on my first 20 acc ) are trending, actually the article is. Probably twitter recognize how popular that specific article is and maybe push it on the popular page (or however it is called).

With the rest of the account I am using the option to make every url unique and I am loosing the opportunity of my articles trending.
If my theory is true, i am potentially loosing 50-80eur per month.

I don't know what to do, I need to think about this one and If you have any advice based on experience I am open to receive it.
