[Wizard Tutorial] Step by Step How to convert a VPS for easy Webhosting [newbie friendly]

I have 5 websites hosted on godaddy and it is time to move on to VPS, but I have never done it and have some noob questions:

can I get VPS hosting for all my existing domains + domains I will create for $4/month, or is it a price per 1 domain?
Can anyone recommend a VPS provider who will assist me to transfer my domains (I know I will screw something up)?

You can host as many domains you want, it all depends on your VPS. I host a 4 sites on one 2gb vps with total daily 3-6K visitors with no problem.
 
Hey wizard04 thanks for this tutorial , got one question , how do i update mysql to 5.5 or more with this setup? i follow instructions on internet but it just messed up the whole setup and can't install mysql "rpm running outside yum" or it just KILLED when im trying to install mysql

and where i can get that vps for 40$ a year ?
 
You need to edit your php.ini 'post-max-size' and 'upload_max_filesize' and might want to increase PHP max execution time so phpmyadmin won't give you time out error.

If you have WHM/cPanel then you can do this from WHM too.

I have neglected this tutorial, I am apologizing for that. I will update it soon to add a better file manager that is with the same capabilities as CPanel file manager.

There are sites that are pushing promotions and you can easily find a non windows vps for $40/y, just google it you will find them, but don't forget to read the reviews.

i found that OVH has great VPS ...with cheap prices...
did you tried OVH before?

They are cheap, I have use them long time before, I had problems shutting down my VPS constantly. I heard they are better now and the cloud vps they are having are running perfectly and also the have free DDoS protection for the cloud VPS as I remember which s a big plus.

yes they have a free DDOS protection in all vps cloud packages

but they don t have dedicated US ip + no mention about SEO software if allowed or not...and they support is terrible
 
This is a very detailed and helpful guide for people like me- the newbies. The video is very helpful as well. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to learn.
