I guess not, unless you swap BNB for ETH. Never tried doing this, but I am pretty sure you are on eth mainnet, and not on binance chain.

Good question. There is USDT in both BSC and ETH. What kind of tokens do you own? If you are having metamask on Binance Chain, then you will need BNB.
Summary:
USDT can be on 2 blockchains:
- ERC-20 on Ethereum => you need ETH
- BEP-20 on Binance Smart Chain => you need BNB

Add the Binance smart chain contract to your metamask wallet. Transfer some bnb to your metamask and then transfer your USDT to your Binance wallet.

I think it depends if you have your usdt on the ethereum mainnet or on the binance chain. I had the same issue when I used metamask the first time and didn't know why I got the error I had not enough funds to pay the gas fees. I had no eth on it, only usdt.
So if you are on the mainnet just transfer some eth to your metamask wallet.

I transferred some USDT by using BNB Smart chain, but its hours and the amount has still not arrived on my Binance Wallet
Is there a way to speed up the transaction in between ?
