With the recent Google carnage..is it time we started taking Bing more seriously?

In Spain more than 90% of user use Google Search Engine, Worldwide is something like this:

This is a huge difference! If you are not happy with Google because they ban sites is your problem and the site owner problem, not mine that's for sure. Right now I'm making money thanks to Google and it's easy to build backlinks and rank for keywords.

Ok, they ban some sites, but remember that what you are doing is illegal according to their TOS so they have the right to ban sites.

If you are saying that they ban sites which ones didn't done any linkbuilding that's even better!!
Build backlinks for your competitors pages and de-index them!! If you can't do that it's because Google know when someone is building backlinks to harm a site and when it's building backlinks to benefit himself.

Playing Google game to make money? Respect the rules.

PD: Yahoo and Bing is shit, maybe for USA is something better but for other languages is not a good search engine.

The answer is also to be found in developing other traffic methodologies that ranking sites in the search engines. Set up one's site with decent SEO just to cover that base, but otherwise add other funnels that make up for Google's panda dance. BH methods used to be more famous for this sort of thing (finding ways to get good traffic that wee not reliant on SEO), instead of BH now being almost exclusively associated with gaming the search engines.

Bing is very slow when it comes to indexing new pages - even if you have submitted a sitemap to their webmaster tool. One nice thing that they have though is the submit pages function, where you can manually submit up to 10 pages per day to their index. These pages usually get indexed withing a couple of hours.

It could be a nice case study to put two fingers up to Google and do everything which would get your site penalised. And see how it reacts in Bing.

My site is already a case study for this, I was penalized by Google on Feb 17th and my site rocks in the SERPs in Yahoo/Bing, but who really cares as they generate a small trickle of visitors to my site..

so the moral of the story is don't really try and optimize your site or backlinks for yahoo/bing because you won't end up with much traffic...

Google is a b!t^h... St aright Up..

But it is really hard to ignore Google because of its large market share.. I have sites that have been on the top of BING for months and get no where near the amount of traffic as Google does.. like 10:1 or more. So I look at Google kind of like the stock market.. If I have enough diversity in my sites, seo tactics, multiple streams of revenue etc.. I should outlast a site getting dinged or 2.

I think it is highly unfair of Google to simply come down with the hammer and have it effect people that are playing by th rules.. but hey, we are not Google, and we are playing on their field.. So kind of like a football game, you have 2 equal teams - it will prob come down to the calls the refs made on the outcome. All you can do is learn from it, try to overcome it and start building the next one or getting your site out of the ding.

For the record I am pissed at Google and have been many times before. I once removed all traces of Google Service from my online presence and use bing as my homepage / go to search engine.

The thing is.....Bing is really shit at search, I kept having to sneak back to google to get decent results.

If you want proof, go to bing and look at the 2 and 3rd results for 'black hat world' and then check Googles front page.

Sadly Bing and yahoo are really shitty even compared to google in this days.. There's no much to do at the moment. But yeah I would be more than happy if someone shows up and stops google monopolizing with this tirranic shit

Going to be honest - I never know how to rank for Bing and Yahoo! I can be first page for Google yet not show up in the top 100 for any other one. It's all very bizarre...

You can still rank on google well if you do everything right and adjust to changes. Anyone who complains about google are just crying because they don't know how to rank. When any of my sites go down in rankings, I look at what I did and adjust it. I then start to gain rankings back.

Instead of making tons of topics on how evil google is. Why not start testing your sites and working out a fix.

Many sites were ranking well for people and just dropped off a cliff with no explanation or ability to see why it happened.

SEO for Bing and Yahoo! isn't profitable for the vast majority of niches. In fact, I can't (off the top of my head) think of even a single one that even comes close to SEO for Google.

All search engines are at least basically aware of how each others algorithms function and go out of their way to make sure theirs work differently to force SEOs to choose a course of action. Which is really dumb for Yahoo! and Bing considering their market share.

Anyway, what it's time for is to view money made from organic search as nothing more than a bonus. Those of us who have had this perspective for a year or more have unwittingly prepared for these ridiculous resorts on behalf of Google.

I rank much better on Bing/Yahoo but the traffic is low from this source. It doesn't has to be Bing but I would like to see people using other searching options just to kill the monopol the Google has in the market. It would be great if the G is just one among the others with relatively equal market share but other search engines have to offer something different to lure the people. I personaly do not like Blekko but they are trying to be diffent.

Guys, Google is bad & evil, but there's noting better then Google. Face the truth. We live on the traffic and Google has it.
Simple as that. And there's more: imagine that there is 33%:33%:33% split between the search engines.Every one has different rules and algorithms. Now try to rank your page. You'll have 3 times more work and sometimes their rules can be contradictory. 3 sites, each for every search engine? Now I can just ignore Bing/Yahoo and hope that I'll get some random traffic from them.

D.

The way I see it is that google has been politely asking us to learn CPA for years now. Only lately there polite nudge has been a bit more insistent. Don't worry oogly googly I hear you.

What I would really be interested in seeing in all honesty would be facebook getting into the search. They have been stepping on everyone elses toes why not search? Man how I would like to exploit that free traffic...
