Yeah i know, you'll probably be whining about me being a wuss and a loser macboy, but anyway I wanted to let you guys know that I am currrently installing Windows in parallels on my mac because I really need to be able to run those pretty SEO programs that are around here on the forum. Thanks for all those, but no thanks to the shame i now have to go through in macland ;)

Macs are for designers, photographers, rockbands and the unemployed. We make money here. Sorry to hear of your pain, but congratulations to taking your first step into the internet marketing world that a Windows based PC provides. ;)

All said with love you know!

Don't feel bad, now you have the best of both worlds.

I use VMware Fusion in unity mode and it's not only seamless but fast as hell. :)

I had a Mac Pro and used vmware fusion.

As much as I loved that Mac I can honestly say I'm happier with a laptop running XP. Everything just works.

I actually rather run vista when you have the RAM but the funniest part about it all is that I have my vista to "appear" like the XP layout. When I get bored I change the settings to look like Windows 95 or 98 just for the fun because that's when computers were actually still pretty..."Cool" if you know what I mean. Those days when hearing the dial up modem making it's connection beeps and pauses...priceless. Dial up being quick, leaving your computer on all night to download one CD and then taking another 45 minutes to burn a CD at 2x speed...gotta love it.

In those days it was actually still some what of a luxury to have a computer in your home. Mac or not, I love em' both for their own reasons.

I really don't see what everyone has against Vista. To be honest with you I think it is a social stigma that has snowballed because of peer pressure. In reality, it is much better than Windows XP, people just don't think so because they hate having to get used to something new. Windows Vista broke you into the new era of Windows and took all the brunt for the things you didn't like having to get used to... then Windows 7 comes along and adds a few things.. smooths out some bugs and everyone acts like it is LEAPS AND BOUNDS BETTER... (I have both) Windows 7 is just Vista with a few added quirks and smoother operating.

Two little things I hate (and everyone else seems to love) about Windows 7 -

    • Stupid ass shit makes app windows go to full size when you drag them to the top or stick to the sides and take up half the screen when you try to drag them slightly out of sight...(yes this feature can be disabled but why the fuck would you put something so annoying on by default?)...
    • RETARDED symbols at the bottom that you actually have to highlight in order to see which window is which. (I don't know about you but I think it is much easier to just glance at the name of the app window without having to highlight it and scroll through the damn windows .. looks fancy but is functionally sillly) For example if I have 3 FF windows open and I want to open a specific one I have to highlight the damn symbol AND THEN select the window.. whereas in Vista I could just glance at the damn name and click the window of my choice... wtf...
Windows 7 is like the touch screen of operating systems in my opinion. In other words - next time you go to Best Buy or Circuit City check out the big 20 inch touchscreen monitors... play with it for a little while.. the first couple of minutes you're like "oh this is so neat".. then after three minutes of holding your damn arm up and moving it across a 20 inch screen you're like "wait a minute wtf.. why don't I just use a mouse and do all of this crap with my finger instead of getting a cramp in my shoulder from clicking on shit all around the screen"... Yah those touch screens have their uses.. but for average computing tasks they are just a novelty... really..

    Someone has to agree here..

I guess thats why I phrased it as a question?! after not having to worry for years about getting virusses with my mac, it isn't that strange to do an inquiry into the dangers of using windows in parallels?
