I have been trying to teach about mns from scratch and think i have found something i'm interested in (lets just say cat) the emd is available and i really think will have a steady and decent flow of traffic with a reasonable cpc for a start out.

but now I have a dilema do i buy cat.xom or cats.xom?

will this make that much difference on searches?
if i target my site for the cat kw would it should up if someone searched for cats??

or would you advised buying both cat.xom and cats.xom?

any pointers would be most appreciated

My cat says, it only really matters on the actual ad. He says, for SEO purposes it doesn;t make a difference, and it only really makes a difference when someone click an ad on your website. My cat works for Google.

Why not buy both? Register with whois privacy or fake info and develop both - one to be #1 and 2nd to be #2. Use different themes and content structure so they dont look like owned by same person.

thanks guys i think i'll buy both as its cheap enuff and later i can always develop the other.

Or if you're lazy then you could develop one and redirect the other to main one. That come in handy when you have type-in traffic.

Doesn't really matters. The 's' is not so important in SEO. While searching on search engines, your cat will be up with or without any 's' in there. Otherwise, why not own both if both are cheap and affordable. Follow up the steps as told by madoctopus.

without "s" offcourse must be first choice evetrytime, more easy to remember, brandable and original.

If the exact match searches include the s then use the domain name with the s. For example people searching for wedding flowers always use the s so weddingflowers.com is much stronger than weddingflower.com

This said if both are available buy both! At least that way you stop any competition.
