with or without opt-in page

Hello ,

I am new to the IM.
I am planning to advertise Clickbank products with PPC.
I have read that it is good to have a landing page to warm up prospects and to obtain their emails.
That is okey, but I have seen so many landing pages without opt-in, they are just informational, i think this just distract the prospect (all that with redirecting ect.).

My questions are:
1. It is good to have landing page without opt-in or it is meaningless?
2. What should I post on my landing page - small sentences or big text? What is the best practice?
3. If I make opt-in page it will be only to obtain their email and I will redirect them to the vendor website (I will not give them ebook or something like that). Is it good to have this kind of landing page - only get their email with something like -> "Type your email here and we will show you how to .... , 10000 mans already do that , and etc."

In short,
1. yes, it is good to have opt-in. Especially if you use PPC. Imagine you pay for that visitor lands on your landing, didnt do anything and leave,
you lost that click. If that visitor opt-in but didnt buy, you still able to email them and they might buy in future.
2. there is no best practise as it depends on what you want to do after that. Simple landing works well for warm traffic. Slightly more info for cold traffic.
3. Why not? Keep it simple.

I agree with everything blazingprofits said but I will add something. Split test everything. This is the only way you can truly optimize your landing page.

Take in mind There's not an only correct answer, each campaign is different and you must test it each time, for example:
I have one campaign running right now that has a conversion rate higher with a Click through landing page compared to going direct, while another of mine campaigns converts better sending traffic directly.
And don't forget, don't get lost in simple metrics, and look at what's most important at the end of the day that's the amount of profits each method gives you, not which one has better cvr's, or cpc's.

Opt-in emails are great for building a sales pipeline. You literally gain nothing but people who are already interested in whatever you are offering. Targeted lists are powerful, and can be used to wear down a buyer on the fence, and sell more to those who already bought. Having a solid email list is really a win/win.
