I do pretty well offline marketing with windshield wiper fliers. I promote a dating site for the most part. I hire people (off of craigslist) in different cities to spread out around their city and distribute fliers under windshield wipers in parking lots.

They are normally short and to the point, something like,
"New Local Singles Site Just Launched. Free To Join! -URL-"

I use one of my own short domain names for each person distributing fliers and forward it to the dating site. I create a new campaign for each one so I can track traffic coming in from each domain.

I print the fliers off myself and normally get 4 fliers out of each piece of paper. I mail each person 400 of them and pay them $80 by personal check included with the fliers. Yeah I've had some people cash the check and not distribute the fliers but that's part of the game.

Yeah I know it's simple but it works for me so I figured I would share.

It's good you've implemented a way to track sales from each worker.

I'd be taking this to the next step and pay new workers their first check after the first conversion to reduce losses.

For legit workers this shouldn't be a problem because 1/400 is a .25% conversion rate which is almost guaranteed. If they question it ask them to take a quick photo of a few cars with your flyers on them to prove they did the work.

It varies of course but I normally get 20 - 50 free signups for every 400 distributed.

    Good for you OP!

I already have two people working for me. But still waiting on the results of the promotions.

The only difference with me, though, is that I'm not paying them to deliver the flyers. I design the flyers, email it to them, and they are responsible for promoting it. And so this is by commission.

I have some CPA offers that are paying about $30-$35... so I'll pay them $20 for each conversion.

And this is how I'm tracking their conversions:

    AnyDomain.com/fast
    AnyDomain.com/now
    ... Etc...

Each URL is linked to their specific sub-id that I created for them.

Again, just launched this last week so I'll still need to see the results.
