winning the snippet blows

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes winning the snippet straight-up blows? I was getting ok traffic for a keyword when I ranked number 2 for it but as soon as I won the snippet my click-through dropped to nothing. In fact, I have several keywords winning the snippets now and over the past 7 days it's stuff like 200 impressions 0 clicks, lol.

tip: you can't lose rankings if you don't rank at all!

Seriously, though, everyone knows that snippets are bad for site owners, so it's normal that your CTR and traffic plummeted. Why do you think everyone is more and more annoyed by google's mafia tactics?

For one of the keyword I noticed I was supposed to be at position nr 2.
So I was wondering why that page didnt get any views.
And then I noticed it was in the snippet.

So yeah, snippet sucks.

Sometimes. Depends on the snippet and how you phrase it. I have a more educational-style website that wins snippets all the time and Google outright steals all the traffic. Meanwhile, I have another website that gets snippets and it increases the traffic substantialy. If you ask me, I think google should be forced to pay us for using snippets.
