Windows server conection problem!Please help

In the last 3 days i try to fix this strange problem:
Pc:OS windows server 2008
Managed with remote desktop
the server is locate 2500 km from my location.I can login with remote desktop,use scrabebox from that pc,but any other software cannot conect to internet.(Mozilla,IE,windows update,kaspersky update,ping fails to any address)

Check the firewall settings, the DNS settings and the routing from command line. 99% of the time these are the main culprits.

Also if you installed some packet filtering layer, sometimes they're known to mess up the connections "per app" that might help explaining/ debugging your problem. HTH.

Did you do something just before it stopped working? Windows Update, new software, etc...?

Normally I'd say run a System Restore, but I don't think the "Server" Operating Systems have the System Restore feature.

Are you certain the Operating System is Server Edition, and not standard XP/Vista/Win7 ?

Firewall is disabled,antivirus unninstalled.All tests looks OK.I can acces local network,but not internet.BUT i can connect using remote desktop from another server,share folders,etc.

Also if you installed some packet filtering layer, sometimes they're known to mess up the connections "per app" that might help explaining/ debugging your problem. HTH.

Nothing installed.Just basic OS,AV and SB.

No,just power failure and internal battery dead,after restart time was set to 2002

Blind guessing here.

- Consider checking if you have multiple network interfaces or interfaces in teaming/bonding with a simple "ipconfig /all".

- Check if you have some interfaces bridged to some other interface. Installing a Virtual Machine Emulator might have been the cause.

- Consider trying a telnet to a website from commandline on the port 80 and see if the issue is somehow the html rendering engine/weird proxy settings maybe a leftover from some funny installation.

- Ping a domain name and then its numeric IP counterpart to see if ICMP echo/reply is going out and coming back.

- None worked? Consider reinstalling. It's late, I'm running out of ideas...

This doesn't sound right. It takes at least 5 years for the "internal battery" (aka CMOS/BIOS battery) to die. Unless you have a very old Server using more recent software (doubtful).

If the battery DID die, there's a problem. CMOS battery issues cause all manner of flaky problems, and they are sometimes intermittant (the worst). More likely you have a motherboard problem, if this battery really did die.

Did it get replaced?

Who changed all the BIOS settings back to the way they were, and did that person know what they are doing? Those settings can get very "exotic", and unless either the person knows that particular machine very well, or has general knowledge and is willing to research each option they are not familiar with, it is entirely possible that some oddball setting in there is different than it used to be, which is why your performance is different.

The first thing to do is rule-out if you have a hardware problem. Also, power outages can sometimes be VERY catastrophic. You should think of the power surge of the power coming back on as being the equivalent of a lightening strike. A good-quality Power Supply is an absolute essential, and a poor quality PSU could easily fail due to power irregularities and be the cause of your problems.

Do you know the specs of your PSU (manufacturer, model number, rated power output) ? Or the specs of the whole system, if it is premanufactured (not custom-built, like a Dell, HP, etc...)

Problem fixed.
After i have reported this to the ISP,in 24 hours problem solved.
But they state that nothing was wrong with them.But now is working.
