what type of hosting is required for movie/tv site, windows based or linux based, as I saw somewhere that there are problems as thumbnails doesnt show in windows based, I thought it is better to ask here, please let me know which one is better

We all know how fast, reliable, secure, slick and gentle it is with resources in a home/office based environment...

Look, the vast majority of servers run *nix systems. It's the only option worth consideration in my highly arrogant opinion - unless you want to run virtual computers i suppose.

Go Linux all the way. You may need a little more help in how to administer it, but its going to handle far more load than winblows ever will.
 
I'd say for a web server, FreeBSD is a better solution, performance/security wise, then most linux distros straight out of the box.
 
I'm a big fan of linux, and most of the scripts that you want to run will probably be more comfortable on linux. Typically you're looking at linux - PHP/MySql, windows - asp etc. I really can't think of much of a reason you'd want to go with windows.
 
I read that many people use windows VPS servers instead of linux in the purpose of running xrumer on the server.
have i misunderstood what i read ?
