Anyone tried this OS, is it any good?
Does it worth to be installed?

thanks

It's worth trying IMHO.
Personally I don't like it. It's childish for me and I'm a pretty conservative person.

D.

I m willing to try it. I don't like changes and i m still using Windows XP, tried installing Windows 7 last year but few tools were not working on win7.

Based on the reviews windows 8 is going to rock.

I tried it on Windows Server 2012. I guess it will take a while to get used to it.

Tried it and didn't like it at all. Not sure what it was about it, just wasn't my thing. Quite suprised given I enjoy the windows phones.
I'll be sticking to windows seven :/

I'm still running XP and by the time I can get around to upgrading, my gut says getting an old copy of Win7 might be harder than it's worth...who knows though..I might just love Win8...that is...if all the software I run will be compatible when that time comes! :D

Sorry I'll pass. With Windows 8 it appears that Microsoft has confused a marketing strategy for a viable user interface. And this is from a longtime Windows user. I'm not installing this cartoon tablet interface on my new production desktop because I'm not some teenager furiously working my Facebook account. Ubuntu is looking better and better! Oh, and I own numerous tablets!

Tried Win8... looks like my nephew dump his color pack on it, hate the new start menu.
Trying WinServer2012 converted to workstation and so far so good.

I think win8 will do the same as Vista did, WinXP - Great, Vista - Sucks, Win7 - Great, Win8 - Sucks, Win9? See the pattern there?

Edit: Got Mountain Lion installed on my hackintosh, so far looks good, I think better then Win8.

There's no freaking start menu just those dopey Metro tiles. You have to go back forth from the desktop to Metro just to start an app. It's as if Microsoft decided to give the desktop user a collective f#$% you since they are so far behind chasing tablet and smart phone users. This will be worse than Vista! Ballmer should fired for this mess!

The problem with big F.....k you from M$ is that in the long run they will be hurting themselves, their biggest clients are companies with VLC licensing, now imagine a corporation taking a dumb in productivity just because 80% of their work force HAVE to get use to a new interface.

Tried it, but not so good as they think. I am happy with my win 7 :D

What cracks me up about Windows 8 is that somebody thinks this is marketing genius by forcing one touch screen OS on all platforms. I just bought a new desktop to do videos but Windows 8 is not coming near this box. I hate 8!

Did not like it. First few days was good, but slowly I discovered that currently many softwares, tools, etc. are not compatible with Windows 8. It is good for tabs but not for laptops.

Interesting, care to share what apps had a problem with Win 8?

Many bots found in BHW did not work with Windows 8. Ex : Botstagram. And the apps for windows 8 were not laptop compatible :/
Ex : In a Game "Carmen San Diego" it asked me to hold down one finger and use the other finger to rotate the object. How am I supposed to do that on a Laptop!

Guys... If you're having issues with OS compatibility, use a VM. You get both OSes and can run any app. Of course I'm not advocating W8 since it looks like shit, but for XP -> W7 it would be a good idea.

Don't worry, there will be a way to get rid of the metro pretty soon im sure.
