I did a search before I started to post this so if I missed something on this I apologize. I just wanted to share my experience doing this, and try to give something to BHW members that MAY have not thought about this. I know this is not a new method and has been around, again I just wanted to share my experience with you guys.

Early last year, I owned and operated a car detail shop. So one day a guy comes in and asks me if we cleaned windows. I asked if he just wanted his windows cleaned on his car. He was like no, "I need some windows cleaned at my office." Not thinking too much about it I told one of my workers to go take care of it. So my worker comes back almost a hr later telling me the guy gave him $140 for cleaning the inside and outside of two windows. I'm thinking to myself like damn I should have went lol. So a week later the guy comes back in and asked could I send someone to clean his windows. I asked him what was up with him and windows I've never had anyone come in the shop asking this before. He explained to me that businesses need to keep their windows cleaned, and they are willing to pay.

So when he told me this I rode around and looked for all little strip malls, or little plaza's that had the big windows in front. I stayed away from the bigger grocery store chains and most offices because they want you to have insurance. But I would approach the shop owner and ask how much were they paying to get their windows cleaned, whatever they said I lowballed by 10-15 bucks and promise to have their windows cleaned twice a week. On days it was raining, I would call them up and have their windows cleaned the next day. I didnt really care, I just wanted to get all the clients I could.

Some business owners are different from others, some want the inside and outside cleaned. That means more $$$, one client had 4 windows and would pay $45 for inside and $45 for the outside. So that one client brought in $360. I made some clients pay weekly and some pay monthly. The reason I stopped doing this was because I had guys working for me that I would pay weekly that I would find in a "labor pool". In my city its a few places where guys looking for work stand out and wait for people to pick them up. They eventually learned the business and started working for themselves.

This is getting kind of long so I'm going to cut it short, but if there are any questions I will be willing to answer them ... But its a very low start up cost, bucket, water, dish washing liquid, and a squeegee ... Pretty sure you guys could put twist on this method, or find more ways to monetize this

I have a lady that works with me that cleans windows for about 20 hours a month. We went to lunch one time and stop by the bank so she could deposit her window washing money and it was close a thousand dollars.

You wont get rich, but definitely possible to make a little cash if needed.

I spent my working life as a remodeling contractor. Here's my take on this.

In most states a person needs a contractor's license to do any type of maintenance work for homeowners.

The problem with this particular method is when you actually go inside of someone's home. If you damage something, you are responsible. If it's expensive and you don't have insurance, ouch! What's worse is that a homeowner can accuse you of stealing from them. You could end up in jail for that one.

we get our windows (3 - 8' x 10') cleaned for $10-$15 every 4 weeks. This is good work for high school kids.

I got a method that involves some walking and a lawnmower. I need to test it though as I'm not sure it will work.
