You can format the HDD and install Win 7 over it easily. Go for it.
Yeah waste your money, buy a useless overpriced machine for no good reason.buy a apple and install bootcamp. then win 7 there

Why would you downgrade to Win 7? I'm using Win 10 more than a half a year now without any issue.
I liked Win 7, but i like Win 10 more.
To answer your question: Ask it where you buy the laptop, finding appropriate drivers might be an issue.
Also try to look for something which has only Freedos installed, so you can get a better config for the same price, because you don't pay for a Windows OS, what you don't even want to keep.

you can but like other poster said why? I use windows 10 and like it,have you tried windows 10 before or just going on windows 7?

Yeah you can and I would say most of the main hardware in it will have drivers available for win7 but the problem with laptops, unlike most desktops, is that there could always be that one awkward piece of hardware that doesn't quite work nicely in a different version of windows.
Trackpads are the worst for this so I would do a bit of research before taking a win10 laptop if you intend on putting 7 on it.
You may be able to find a more compatible laptop if buying from the win8.1 era if you do not find a win10 one.
With that said if you are concerned about Cortana logging your typing and things like that just turn them off and carry on as you were, I am definitely in the camp that would say most of the fanfare about spying in win10 is over exaggerated.
Yes you can. You may have a problem with some drivers. Most manufacturers also will not service a laptop in warrantee unless it has the factory installed OS. Most people remove the factory HD and install another to install a non factory OS while keeping the factory hard disk to install in the event of a hardware failure under warrantee.
I am of the camp that a person is better off without Windows 10. The only time I operate W10 is in a VM where I can block the the unwanted communication with MS servers through the host OS.

Piece of advice: Go to the vendors website, grab the ethernet and WiFi drivers and throw them on a thumb drive. There is nothing worse than realizing you don't have those drivers and obviously don't have Internet access to go get them.
I dabble with both 7 and 10. I have one of each. But I would prefer my clients have 7. Takes me longer to fix an issue on 10.

You can install W7 on anything, but in truth W10 isn't bad either...
