When do you think Twitter is going to die & shut down?

and when do you think it will be just like facebook in terms of the limits? cuz when you publish 3 links on facebook you instantly get banned but twitter barely shadowbans you for tweeting links

I think over the past few months or so Twitter has come as close to dying as it will for quite a long time. However I can expect them to get stricter on the link posting you mentioned, especially after their (cancelled) policy of banning outbound to other social media.

I think Facebook and Twitter are already dead. it doesn't look as good as it used to for me
facebook has been invaded by the old people man. 10 years ago 15-25 year olds were using facebook and then one day all of a sudden old people discovered facebook and then all of a sudden facebook has become a platform for old people. now facebook is dead in terms of everything

It will only die if Musk shuts it down or something else becomes more popular at delivering the same function. Twitter is different from facebook and the pic/vid social media because it's primarily text driven, tweets are primarily public and it allows an open exchange between the common folk and voices with more social influence (e.g. businesses, celebrities, experts). Is Mastodon or any of the other twitter-like sites doing something better to drive people to move? Toxicity on twitter might help move people but it won't kill it.

If you look at myspace vs. facebook, facebook won for a few reasons. When it started you had to have a college email which basically kept it to a young crowd. Facebook is kind of like myspace (friends, wall) but it seemed safer because you couldn't be anonymous. That was a huge reason why facebook was considered a more credible platform than myspace. The big thing it did better than myspace or other earlier platforms was to blend your friends' posts into your wall as a single stream of content you could engage and you could engage in other people's content. Facebook officially killed myspace when it opened to everybody.

Compare that to snapchat, which has been nearly wiped out by instagram adopting the short lived story format into a larger platform with more functions and most snapchat users were already on instagram, too. New doesn't always beat old.

elon is using twitter in his global game of world domination.

he's got US government contracts in place for electric vehicles, broadband internet, space exploration, payload deliveries, satellite networks, neuroenhancements, and now he controls the people's free speech through twitter.

elon has officially crowned himself king of the fucking earth.

and there is no way that twitter will ever die.

im just glad he's on our side

I don't think twitter will disapear soon, people is happy whith the change that Elon did, still the platform is not in is best shape, but seems to be getting a decent amount of traffic and people likes the changes, now I'm more active in twitter lately, if twitter is going to disappear yes but in the far future with a platform that can give the same and more as twitter, so far there is no other platform that can do the same.

I don't think Twitter will die or shut down anytime soon. This is just not worth the debate IMHO.

Well tiktok its amoung of the biggest social media networks and its not dead .If your marketing eforts doesnt work it doesnt mean its dead

Twitter is still good.
I notice Facebook is trying so many things these days. They will put a feature today and then it'll be gone tomorrow.
