Will this work?

i recently tried advertising a affiliate link to a web host on adwords. But upon finishing my ad and getting it approved i found that my ad will not be shown due to an existing, higher ranking ad for the same site.

So instead of trying to find a whole new set of keywords, is it possible to register a similar/mispelled domain and use a domain forwarding service, and just advertise that instead?
