Will this sharecash method work?

I just stumbled upon this method... it is silly and pretty unethical, but do you think it has something in it? Can it land you in jail?

1) Make a post somewhere (the method said craiglists) saying you're giving something for free to the first one to email you.
2) When someone emails you, just tell him that you already gave away the thing, and tell them to try their luck filling up the survey at your link.
3) Profit

It seems very silly yo me, but just curious...

Sure it can work, considering most of the people on craigslist (in my experience) aren't the brightest. As for the legal question, I'm no lawyer, but I see nothing even remotely close to being not legal about this. You should be fine.

Well, I tried it. Searched for the place with the worst education in the US, came out Arizona, I went for it. I don't count on making more than 3 bucks, and even if they ban me no problem, as this is my first try.
