Will This Get Flagged as Reused Content?

Hey,

I’ve been making YouTube Shorts for a while and I’m slowly getting better at editing, but I’m not sure if this type of content can actually be monetized.

My process is pretty simple:

  1. I write a short script, something like:
“How many fruits get rejected before you see them in a store?
Some are thrown away because they’re too small, weird-looking or not perfect enough.
Worldwide, fruit losses can reach around 25%.”

  1. I add background music. Right now I’m using the instrumental version of “Me and the Devil”. Weirdly, I haven’t received any copyright claim yet.
  2. I find a TikTok video that fits the topic, download it and cut it up to make it faster and more dynamic.
  3. I add some sound effects, like/subscribe animations and stickers.
  4. I make the voice-over with ElevenLabs.
  5. I add captions synced with the voice.
So the final video has a new script, voice-over, subtitles, music, effects and editing, but the actual footage is still taken from TikTok.

My question is: is there any point in building a channel like this, or am I almost guaranteed to get rejected for reused content when I apply for monetization?

I know adding subtitles and a voice-over probably isn’t enough on its own, but I’m wondering how much editing is actually considered “transformative” by YouTube.

Has anyone here monetized a similar Shorts channel?

I don’t want to spend months growing the channel and then find out the whole format was a dead end.
