I'm thinking about opening a blog for various movie series and stuff. Will it be illegal if i just get some video codes from sites like veoh and similar tube sites hosting the movie series? Could I get in trouble even tho if im not hosting any of the files on my server ?

Could you get in trouble? Definitely, numerous individuals/corporations have been sued for their role in directly encouraging piracy.

I don't think you have anything to worry about unless your site gets hugely popular. If they wanted to stop people from doing this, they wouldn't shut down "Surfthechannel.com" a long time ago.

It depends what country you live in. In the US there are all sorts of laws that make it a crime to encourage other crimes, so technically you could be committing an offense by linking to pirated content. They are unlikely to come after you unless you are successful, though. In some countries it is an offense to host the content but not to link to it, and in at least one country I know of, the copyright laws don't cover software yet, unless it also has audio visual content, so you could legally copy MS office there, but not video games.

A word to the wise: seek legal advice from legal professionals who specialize in your area of interest or business, not from forums.
