Will the Links from Yahoo and Google Groups Count as Backlinks?

SEO experts....Pls cpmment on this....I am planning to invest some money for Yahoo and Google Group postings and i need to know this information.

I don't know about Yahoo, but the links from Google Groups DO count. When I ran a backlink check on my site, I found a few backlinks from posts that I made on there with my URL added.
