According to the new article "Instagram Kills Off Feed Reading Apps" from TechCrunch, I am confused to if my bot will stop working.

I built a phantomjs bot that likes photos based on what hashtags are given for sites like Iconosquare, Webstagram, Pictacular etc. Will are these sites be shut down June 1st since they are banning public API? How can I use a private API so that my software doesn't go to waste. I know a lot of companies will stay in business. I am wondering if I should change in how it works but going a different route, since I heard people don't even use the API. If anyone can point me to the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

are you worried about what will happen 7 months from now in a line of business where we cannot be sure what will happen in the next moment? :)
there are public tools which don't use the api and are capable of liking using hashtags (pretty basic function), when and if your bot stops working 7 months from now, it will be a lot easier and cheaper to buy one of those than getting access to a private API
private APIs are private for a reason, you cannot really expect any meaningful discussion about them on a public forum

Well I know there is a lot of uncertainty in this market, but I need to be prepared even if its seven months from now. I have customers to take care of. My software pretty much just rotates through hashtags on third party sites like Iconosquare and likes photos using selenium. I am wondering if they are going to prevent these websites from running or disallowing pictures to be shown based on the hashtag, and removing the ability to like them.

Can you name few public tools which dont use in some way Instagram API, please??

just to name one: the most well known bot for instagram aka followliker

@hydtek: the article you're referring to suggests that those services will be shut down, if they don't comply, no mention about iconosquare though, but i guess it applies to that as well, atm it seems that June 1st will be the end for the feed reading apps
