(CBDC) Central bank digital currencies are actually digital tokens, similar to cryptocurrency, but are NOT cryptocurrency, and are issued by a central bank. They are pegged to the value of that country's fiat currency.

Finance experts in governments, often lack knowledge & understanding of money & finance and think that Central bank digital currencies are cryptocurrency (or they have some other type of "agenda").

CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies. Although the idea for CBDCs came from cryptocurrencies, they are two very different types of digital currencies.

The key difference between CBDCs and cryptocurrency is the centralization and decentralization. A cryptocurrency is a decentralized digital currency, meaning there's no central party that controls it. As the name implies, a central bank digital currency is controlled by a central bank and pegged to the value of that country's fiat and the central bank decides the value of their fiat currency, meaning that central bank digital currency is not decentralized and hence not cryptocurrency.

Therefore it is a reality that Central bank digital currencies are not a cryptocurrency no matter if almost all governments say that they are. And all people who understand cryptocurrency know that CBDCs are not cryptocurrency.

Note : USDT, etc are not cryptocurrency, USDT, etc are stablecoins. Stablecoins attempt to peg their market value to some external reference and hence have a centralized aspect and therefore not classified as being a cryptocurrency.
