Will the Dollar Collapse Soon?

I can appreciate that everyone has their own opinion and we're all entitled to it, but it's downright comical that in the blink of an eye BHW and all it's inhabitants (or at least everyone is this thread) are suddenly global economic experts... complete with pie charts and youtube videos to back their points.

The dollar is gonna tank! The Euro is gonna crash! Gold is the next bubble!

It's all utter bull$hit. Everyone here that is taking a one-size-fits-all "line in the sand" approach to this argument has NO idea what they're talking about. You're talking about these things as though there is no connection between them... as though the dollar can crash and the Euro will thrive, or vice versa. As though gold can plummet in value and it won't have a massive ripple effect on the global economy.

And the youtube videos... really?!?! This is where are the truth and the answers lie? I thought truth and understanding were gained from real life experience, apparently I should have just sat my ass in front of youtube for the last 30 years to learn my lessons.

Keep this argument raging and keep that "run for your lives, the sky is falling" mentality as fresh and at the forefront of your thinking as possible... that way it's easier for me and all kinds of other intelligent people around the globe to keep gobbling up market share.

Go out and create value, provide service to your customers, do some fucking actual work and quit crying. There's your econ lesson.

To put simply, theres not enough equity behind the dollar, specifically looking at the national debt and the M2 supply.

The US treasury only has about 261,499,000 troy ounces of gold, which is about $400 bln.

The national debt is 14 trln, and the M2 money supply is 9 trln, but we only have $400 bln in liquid assets. A mere 1.79%.

But I do think you do make a good point. If we create values within ourselves and assets, a collapse of the dollar wouldn't really matter.

against which currencies though? right now the asians will not allow their currencies to appreciate against the dollar. there is a reason why most of the world's manufacturing is in asia.. it's their weak currencies. they won't let the dollar fall too quickly.

how much further will the rest of the currencies rise? good question.

every time I get some sales, I try to sell them into an asian currency and sit on them. that's the best policy.

Yes, the worst situation is for those like me who lives in Europe, as we get our income in USD and while exchanging to our currency now we get a way less then we did before due to decrease of USD currency. I wish affiliates would start paying in EURO.

Quantitative easing is whats going to fuck over the dollar.

What seems to be fueling the economy now, is what's going to make the dollar collapse.

When it goes under, and economists are blaming it on "Quantitative Easing," remember you heard it from me first.

What is "Quantitative Easing" all about? Sad, that the dollar will soon be a history...I think Euro will come in next...
