my Girlfriend who is doing naughty stuff on the internet gets 10s of messages on whatsapp, first she sends people a facebook landing link (the affiliate link is in that post) and people are clicking the affiliate link on facebook. so my Question is, will the affiliate program understand that the traffic comes from whatsapp? or will the affiliate program only see that the people are only coming from the facebook landing page? because chat traffic stuff is not allowed

how do you think the affiliate company will find out that the traffic comes from whatsapp? (it's a smartlink affiliate)

The last referrer captured by the affiliate network should be Facebook.

But if I'm wrong, some other experienced member please correct me.

i hope you're not wrong.

whatsapp to facebook , from facebook to the affiliate link.

i hope the affiliate company will not know anything about whatsapp traffic

This is right from Wikipedia explaining the HTTP referrer:

"the request may include the Referer field, which indicates the last page the user was on (the one where they clicked the link)."

I hope wikipedia is right. I asked chatgpt and it says that the affiliate company might have some tools to see where the traffic really comes from.

i hope the affiliate company will only see my facebook landing page and not whatsapp

I wouldn't be worried about the referrer too much as the last one should be Facebook, the page from where the user is clicking the affiliate link. However, maybe with some tools leveraging cookie data, if there are trails inside those, there might be a way...

The other thing I would pay more attention to is why that offer doesn't allow chat traffic.

If somehow chat traffic isn't converting well for the advertiser, and they have some stats to compare, maybe they can tell the traffic isn't right by this vector and probably close the offer.

better way is doing onlyfans , you don't have to worry about the traffic source anymore
