Will sites start taking western union now?

With the recent take down of LR and the U.S. government trying to shut down the un licensed payment processors, will sites and services start accepting and paying though western union?

In small amounts some locations do not even check ID,and even if they do, they do not have the resources to verify if its a legit ID. And even if they did get the device to check to see if its a real id. It doesn't check against the state DMV, all it checks is if the magnetic strip and 3D barcode match the information on the front of the ID. Most states in the US do not even encrypt the data on the magnetic strip or the 3D barcode. As long as the ID is in the proper format,with correct info in strip and barcode, then most businesses accept it as a real ID.

It's an option but hardly ranks higher than an expensive messy way to transfer money especially when you see how the WU agents and the like operate in Asia and many countries around the world...

Western Union isn't like Liberty Reserve though, it's not decentralized, and most transactions aren't anonymous. IMO, Western Union is also really hard to fraud. I've used it in a number of countries and I've always been asked to show my passport. In the UK they then put your ID number into the computer. So, some vendors might not care if it's a small amount, but you're not going to get away with it for a large amount of money. I think it's here to stay.

Liberty Reserve was a centralized currency, it was totally different from bitcoin. If it was a decentralized currency then there wouldn't be any threads about people losing money.

They put the number in the computer here, but its just to collect information on the person, they do not have access to DMV database, it may be the same in the UK. Also what if you don't have a passport, but an 2 other forms of ID in the UK?
