Will shared hosting hurt my backlinking strategy?

I want to build 100 websites for local service businesses in the same niche.

I would like to be able to use them to backlink to each other, kind of like my own PBN.

Will having shared hosting hurt the effectiveness of this?

Do I need to get seperate IP addresses for all of them?

If I need seperate IP addresses does that mean I would need to pay for hosting on every individual site or is there a way but "shared hosting" with seperate IP addresses for every domain?

What are the potential pitfalls of doing this?

Is it even worth it to put in all of this effort or would it be better if I just paid for cheap backlinks somewhere else?

Just keep them light, use cache plugins and ensure they load fast and you should be good.

It is good to contact hosting companies and tell them your needs.
I am sure they will help you in detail as they are getting a customer
By the way good to have knowlege too from fellow bhw members.

I think to save cost you should choose max 3-5 sites on 1 shared host if traffic is not much and if there are not complex website scripts

Wait, you said use them to backlink to each other? You create site 1, then you create 50 sites, those 50 sites link to site 1. You can't interlink 50 sites with each other. I hope you aren't that stupid. Or are you?

More like using the blog sections of the websites to create a backlink for a few of them on each site. So if I have 100 sites, each of them could like to 2 or 3 of the other ones as a part of their overall backlinking strategy. Does that sound potentially useful or stupid? I actually don't know I'm new to this and just trying to learn.

I don't know what you're saying. what do you mean few of them?

The only way to create a funcitonal PBN is:

PBN 1 >>>> Moneysite
PBN 2 >>>> Moneysite
PBN 3 >>>> Moneysite

PBN 1, PBN 2, and PBN 3 ------------- all the way to PBN 100 should never link to each other.

Treat 100 PBNs like 100 chics you are dating and cheating on at once. You don't want them to find out about each other. You only want them to screw you, not each other. If they start screwing each other, you get screwed. Get it?

Maybe I have a fundamental misunderstanding of a PBN.

I am just wanting to use my websites to have backlinks in them with relevant link text that could help Google rank them higher

So instead of actually creating a PBN

I'm wondering if I could create a network of high DR legitimate moneysites and still leverage those sites in a way to help promote each other.

Only if you have enough $$$$$$ to fund backlinks for 100 sites.
I don't think so.
What I think is that you don't understand SEO at all.

Just start out by creating your own money site. Focus on keyword research, content creation and on-site. Once you have those down, you should then think of link building. I wouldn't advise you to build a ton of PBNS. First of all, can you even afford it? A low tier PBN domain is $100, you would need a ton of those to see any traction. Imo, anything under $500 is worthless to invest time in, PBNs are expensive. You can build links through guest posts/niche edits and in other ways. Or you can invest in a strong $2000+ domain and build your site on it. These things are not easy, it took me a long time to understand how to restore sites, build PBNs and repurpose domains as money sites. Read the forum, look at the journey section etc. I woukld advise you to keep reading and asking questions for 2 - 3 months and then take action. Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes and the advice. I read a linked article about building a PBN and I think it is something I want to do, but it'll take me a while to make something worthwhile. Fortunately I do have the funding and I think it could be fun to learn to boostrap one together. I'll definitely focus on my on page SERPO content and my GMB listings before I worry about backlinking with a BPN, but in the longrun it'll be nice to have a PBN in my pocket, especially for the listings with more local competition.

I've built 9 local service sites that are generating several leads a month for my clients, they're all ranked #1 for 10+ Keywords. But I'm just trying to learn how to utilize other backlinking strategies to be able to beat out websites for local businesses in areas that are more competitive.
