Hello guys,

Thats the deal... I need a good website template prototype for a project and I will pay $20 if you hit the spot. No need to upload/rip or anything alike, just post a link here and, well.. the money goes to the winner.

I need the following:
- functional & modern template, without too much blah blah
- preferably bright
- 2 columns
- attractive looking sidebar, suitable for listing of 15-20 items of the same type
- preferably small header (think facebook)
- suitable for websites with a lot of tables and charts (think g. analytics)
- good looking tables
- gray, green, yellow (or orange) and red colors must fit in and be easily distinctive from the background

Cheers,

Sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want. I'd suggest being open to customizing it yourself since it's hard to find 100% what you want in a theme.

I'm not interested in money but my go-to theme for almost everything these days is Thesis because of how easy it is to customize. Before I found it (and before I could customize things easily myself), I used U-Design

Code:
themeforest[dot]net/item/udesign-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/253220

It pretty much just looks good out of the box doing everything you can throw at it.

I have the following recommendation, as i am not sure of ur CMS requirement. If your are looking for wordpress, I suggest the following:
WORDPRESS

alongwith the following plugin:

HTML TEMPLATE

Check the Blog Style in the demo page (with "Right SideBar"). It seems perfect for your requirement.

JOOMLA

Check the Blog Style in the demo page.

I have many other recommendations, as I am unaware of ur CMS requirement, i cant post all of them here.
Let me know ur requirement, and i shall help.

Thanks.

Gin.

After you mentioned thesis I understood the mistake I made in the first post - I'm not limited to wordpress. :-) Additionally, since its a custom platform, 99% of wordpress themes wouldn't fit in, as they are text oriented.

I will remake the design, but need a good starting point for the skeleton.

Templatemonster is a good startoff point

Indeed, I have spent 2 unforgeable days there. :-)

Sorry, I think it's been so long since I've designed without WP that we're a bit attached at the hip! The good thing is that HTML and CSS are pretty easy to rip and repurpose, though, if you already have your own custom CMS. The bad part is, like you said, it's hard to go from text content based to chart based. How close is it to Google Analytics? Is it something like a dashboard?

Its a data analysis platform. As an analogy: a fleet of 20 cars, each has 800 parts, each part has a few charts and table of parameters. Since its deployed at customer's site, I have no choice but make it look professional. :-)

No wonder you're having a hard time finding something that fits. I've browsed a lot of themes but I've not found anything that would exactly fit this. Here is an admin dashboard that has a lot of charts/data that may help give you organization/presentational ideas (just leave login and pass blank):

Code:
themes.kopyov[dot]com/?theme=Aquincum

Otherwise, I'd suggest (going along with the analogy) taking a preexisting two sidebar theme and hollowing it out. You could use the car titles as post pages and maybe a "post image" of a relevant chart to break up the information (so it's not just title-title-title with no content). I don't think you'll find something that encompasses the scope of this project precisely. I've been known to be wrong (and often, at that), though, so good luck with the search.
