Will numbers in a URL hurt SERPs?

If the keyword I'm targeting has a number in it, would it hurt the rankings for my site if I had that number in the URL I plan on using?
 
I cant imagine why it should, if anything it should make it easier for you to rank for the keyword. As Google shouldn't try to match it up with other semantic matches.
 
No, I have domains with numbers in them and they rank just fine.
 
Numbers in domain names are just fine as far as seo is concerned. The main disadvantage is that they typically don't sell well if you want to sell the domain name, unless it's something like 3dmovies.***
 
the numbers wont rank if you are substituting it for a word eg 2 - to or 4 - for and 8 for ate but otherwise they are fine.
