Will my method work? & How to make an image 'unique' in google's eyes?

So my plan is to translate some local website's content to english, that way I'll have tons of unique content but I also want to use the images from the previously mentioned site. Those are of course indexed by google so I have to change them in some way so it doesn't appear as duplicated content. How do I go about this? If I resize the image and perhaps add a watermark would that be enough?

From my experience, if you have unique contents, you are good to go. Image does not affected too much.

Most of my websites using images from istock and some from other websites, they rank very well, as long contents is unique and good on page optimization.

add a clear pixel to the image or an effect or a clear screen. never watermark other peoples images... you could get in trouble

i have a tech spinner that provides 100% copyscape results and the content remains the same (it reads the same but google doesn't see that) :) PM me if you want it
 
Edit the image in photoshop and do some small stuffs (like add some auto tone, or crop the image to a different dimension etc) and save for web. You have unique image now.

Not to mention that google has the latest technology and they can check the similarities of each pixel. Still, this should work for you.
 
be careful of changing other images, sometimes it have legal content. and you can just copy-edit-paste, because it broke the law of copyright. cmiw

None of this will really work. Google may not exact match it but they will see its 90% the same etc. It may help a it but if its that close you may as well use the same image. google can actually mark you down more for trying to make it look different if you dont make it different enough that it can still see where the original came from.
 
You may get a DMCA takedown order.... As far as fixing the images, if they have no text on them, just flip it horizontally (mirror it).
 
What if you get caught translating other peoples content? Won't you get in trouble?
