Hi all.

I have been working on setting up adsense on my websites and been doing it since middle of feb. My adsense account is showing around 1% to 2% clicks but on one of my videos in Youtube it is showing on one of the days 5% on another 7% and on another 30% click to views ratio.

I have heard that it should be with in the 3% but i am not doing any black hat on it, its just the way that one particular video has turned out. other videos are with in the 1% mark.

Will m account get blocked for being so high? had the adsense account for around 5 years now but never did anything with it till now except for the odd few cents here and there over the months.

Many thanks

How are you driving traffic to your site? One big mistake people do is driving traffic from FB where "friends" will try to help you out and click your ads.

The video i have it as only the ad shows first and not ads in between that they can click on.

I drive traffic by many ways. Facebook, twitter, website... but in Youtube it is showing that a lot of the views have come from their site or by search engine

There is nothing like ur Ctr has to be within 3% .. Its just that you need to have real clicks.. if you didn't do anything black hat and the users are genuine then nothing to worry about.. But adsense is just unpredictable you never know, anything can happen.

You will only be banned if you are clicking your own ads, getting others to click your ads, display more then 3 ads on a page, blend ad units to look like text, write text asking for clicks basically anything that is just another version of the above are the big no no's.

The high ratio is on Youtube and i dont use blackhat as dont want my account to get blocked. I only use the display ads first and then the video because i have found this more effective for me as no one needs click any adverts except let the video run and there are a lot of videos at the moment that are short and entertaining so people watch it and there for i get a click as they call it.

Overall adding the adsense from websites and Youtube together i get a click ratio of around 2 - 3% but the videos are generating quite a bit with the way i have it set up.

The obvious answer is not to worry if you aren't doing anything, but I've seen false positives when Adsense flags sites, so I don't trust their system. The YouTube percentage is worrisome, but tbh I don't know the expectant numbers for videos.

One option you have is reading your reports and blocking anyone who looks suspicious.

30% though? That's quite a bit. Are you sure you're not trying to "tell" people to click your ads? That's almost 1 out of every 3 people, clicking your ads. It does seem a bit fishy, bro.

The % rule you mentioned is not true dude. I've seen people with 15%-20% and they are perfectly safe. I own it's best to have a CTR at around 15% but as one of the comments said, if clicks are real, no space to worry :)

The clicks are 100% real but i have it as the hosted one where all they have to do is watch the ad before my video and i get paid for it. If they skip it then i dont. I have seen some ads on some videos on youtube that only last around 20 - 30 seconds and quite often or not im reaching for something like a drink, remote or something and forget to skip it and i guess this is whats happening to me and there for giving me a high ctr.
As you can see, i only get around 60 cents to $3 a day so not very high
