Will it be easy to rank an old website?

I have this old domain/website a year ago that was ranked 1 on 50k search keyword. Back then it was a extremely succesful website, which recieved tons of social shares.
The reason why it is not active today is due to a DMCA complaint from a big game company.. Therefore I had to take it down, I was earning $50-100 a day.

I am about to relaunch the site with some twists so I won't be taken down again. The question is: will I have easier time to rank my old keyword again, due to my old backlinks?

... I just setup wordpress on the domain, and I already have recieved 50 hits. 35 of these are bots, and the last real visitors. I wonder how that is possible..

Give it a couple more weeks, I'm sure you'll have it back on top in no time.

Definitely possible it just depends what was on the site, if you got to the top once im sure you can do it again. Quality engaging content is the key so get that right and the seo and your good to go! Im actually attempting the same thing on one of my old sites, would be interesting if you keep us updated on how your site ranking goes. Best of luck.
