thexbox360kinect.com

as soon as i heard that it had been announced. am i in any danger of getting busted for this? and if not...should i autoblog it? would that be the best bet?

I wouldn't touch it

If anything, they'll demand you to give up your domain before they'll sue you, if they even catch you.

While I dont have any actual experience in dealing with XBox type domains... You may be able to squeek in under the radar.

I have some very obvious domains that could very easily be taken away from me... for instance nickentclubs.com (Nickent is a golf club brand) I have 40+ domains that are simaliar that I purchased before I realized there may be an issue. I may or may not try and make a few bucks from them... I figure I could set up a site, rank it quick and monetize it for a few months before I received a cease and desist letter... depending on if it makes any cash... I may leave it up for a little while longer...

Or I may sell it to them to protect their brand Identity. I may try that approach after I make some cash off it though.

I personally think your safe... I've been on many xbox related sites that are not owned by Xbox. Worst you will get is a cease and desist letter.. which at that point you have two options... keep up with it... or take it down... If you keep up with it, you have a potential of having action taken against you...

Cheers and good luck!

Lol be real... they are going to sue you.. it costs a min of 40k for any company to sue... at most theyll try to convince you to not use it..thats even if they HAPPEN to find it randomly which they most likely wont

You can state that you've generated this name using random string generator:banana:

How about building a micro niche site on it and selling it? Do this quick enough and you'll have some money and no burned on your shoulders.

what about google-my.com?

No you used "my" in it which means you can't get in trouble for using a companies name in your domain.

Obviously yeah, you use a companies name you risk getting the cease letter. Stay away from these types of domains.

can i have it in my Adsense For Domain ( AFD ) instead of let it expiring....

offer to sell it to them.. they're not gonna bother to sue unless you are really posing a threat to them and opening a website that is either competing or creating bad reviews..

it's kind of a shit out of luck situation where as they should have bought it themselves long ago

I think if your become famous then they will definitely try to get in touch with you and sue you

no, if it was illegal then the registar should have never sold it to you, so your safe, as long as you do NOT say that the actgualy company, trademark, or copyright is yours. the domain is yours , thats it. if you do get in trouble you can just turn around and sue tnhe registar for it. kind of like a cop telling you to speed down the street, then arrest you for doing it... its illegal. its called entrapment, you are find bro.

thanks for the feedback guys. yea i would never try to say i was an official xbox site or affiliated with them or anything like that. The only thing i would ever use it for is to sell THEIR products. You would think that they would be ok with that...who knows.

You could make a blog/autoblog selling their amazon products. All you would have to do is clearly state that you and the domain are in no way affiliated with xbox 360 kinect nor do represent xbox 360 kinect and the microsoft company.

That is really cool. It will save a lot of hassle. The best thing is to make your move NOW.

The worst they can do to you at first is to send a Cease and Desist letter to you. Depending on what you sell they may then escalate but I doubt it unless their lawyers are under utilized and bored with just taking their retainer.
