Hey,

I want to experiment with some websites and i got something in mind and i cannot solve it.

I have certain posts that i'm ranked and everything's fine... I want to add some new posts only containing one youtube video or one image.

But i want to add like 50-100 posts like that.

Is that okay or i'll get some kind of thin content penalty at my site?

Maybe this is pretty dumb, but i cannot see an answer to this.

Thanks.

Yes you can but "n0-index" them via yoast's Wordpress seo plugin (assuming you're on WP). That way, you are telling the search engines that you don't want these thin content posts to get included in the SERPs so that you will not be caught by the Panda filter (what's thin content penalty called in Bing and Yahoo?).

Alternatively, you can make a quality post, like 3 photos, 1 video, and around 250 or more words description all in one page and make it stick in the SERPs.

But if your going for the "what's-new-in-this-site-I-have-to-check-it-daily" visitors that are satisfied with a couple of photos or just a video, go for the first option.

You are going to get thin content warning, like i did now,but the thing is my traffic is from social..so i don't give a...So yeah, you will get soon or later. If you write around 300 words - your own words, you can be fine.

I normally add a description and how/when/why information.

Sometimes it?s just a few words, sometimes it?s more, I just insure it?s interesting and unique.

I haven?t as yet seen any penalty.

I want them to be indexed... And if i wanted to make a quality post i would't asked this question, would I?

Why the fuck i need to be penalized for thin content, it is not created with software or not readable... It's a video that people will watch on the page, and some images... How 9GAG has the same thing and it is not penalized?

Yes i plan to do the same, because of my website DA i think those images and youtube posts will rank for long tails, and that exactly what i'm targeting.

I don't see a point why to be penalized really, but i wanted some thoughts... Maybe more?

I agree with diesel1, if you will add descriptions, titles and a little text on page everything will be okay. I don't see any troubles with creating content in this way

Make it informative, prefer quality over quantity. Have few outstanding posts instead of lots of useless ones.

Why do people always want to make themselves smart? I just do not understand this.

Have you read that on that website i have certain posts which are ranked? I want to bring fresh content to the site and maybe get some traffic from google images and some long tails on this way. AND I ASKED FOR THOUGHTS.

*Make it informative, prefer quality over quantity. Have few outstanding posts instead of lots of useless ones.* Everyone knows this, you are not helping, or you just want to increase your post count.

But you did ask this right?

Is that okay or i'll get some kind of thin content penalty at my site?

Now that people are answering and giving you their THOUGHTS, you go and "But I want to do this", But I want to do that".

So what's the point of asking it in the first place if you already made up your mind that you're gonna do it despite of any advice?

So let's go back to your question;
Is that okay or i'll get some kind of thin content penalty at my site?

Short and straight answer: YES.

Not very informative though as there are no explanation why or what would cost that penalty.

Kinda like one youtube video or image posts some members here are planning to do.
