Will i get into trouble for this?

Some people are leaving negative comments on one of my sites. I was wondering if i could get into trouble if i edit their comments before i approve them and post something positive? also will they be able to edit the comment again if they come back to my site?

the same thing goes for comments that are made just for backlinks: what if i remove their site from the "website" field and approve the comment?

No don't worry, you cant get in trouble for this. It's your website.

Im pretty sure your joking about this, but just in case your not. You can do anything you want with their comments, edit, delete, approve etc..

The comments are yours changing them sometimes really helps its called moderation it your site

It is your website. How will you get into trouble? If there is problem then put details in terms of service for your site saying negative messages can be modified Most don't read those...

I think most of those comments are posted by tools like scrapebox so nobody cares if you edit them, as long as you don't remove the backlink
(if you remove the backlink then somebody will be unhappy but still there is nothing he can do about it )
