Will hyphens in a domain affect SEO negative?

Will it affect the SEO of my website if I use hyphen in my domain name? Like for example if I want to create website that is called Sketch Templates, does it affect my SEO negative if my domain for example is: http://www.sketch-templates.com?

Why its a negative thing when your website content is also about sketch templates!

It's just not easily remember-able if you want people to type your domain name and hit ctrl enter. Other than that, there is no negative effect on SEO. Build a quality site just like you would on non hyphen domain

Okay so nothing affects google searches negative? Other than people maybe forgetting the hyphen when writing the address manually?
 
Memorability of domain names is no more a factor IMO. So, hyphenated or non hyphenated domain, it doesn’t really matter. What matters is it’s content and how well it’s SEOed.

Honestly, No. A hyphen (or even multiple hyphens) shouldn't affect your SEO in any negative way, but I would (personally) prefer to go for domains without hyphens.
 
It has zero reason to cause any SEO issues.

Ranking is through your keywords, onpage and backlinks, nothing to do with having a hyphen in your domain name.

Personally I think they look ugly, but 9 or 10 years back I had 2 domains like that ( purely because I wanted domains that were in use ) and I outranked both the others.

What it MAY have an effect on is USER trust... especially when paired with a .info or 'less trusted' TLD

Exactly...Seo wise it has no impact, but if you were to look for a site and saw super-cool-website .info or SuperCoolWebsite . info which would you automatically assume is the legit version on some level. Additionally if someone were to speak your domain is it memorable, or would you have to say ok my website is super dash cool dash website dot info etc.
 
No it won't. It will only make it a little hard to remember the domain name with a -. It won't affect your SEO capabilities.
 
Many high ranking niche sites use - to get the benefits of a couple of keywords.
 
The site itself matters. Domain name doesn't. Ofcourse it has to be reasonable obviously.;)
 
No, it will not affect the site in SEO, though it bit difficult to remember for users. Use informative content and improve brand awareness.

I have a domain with a hyphen in it and it doesn't seem to cause any issues.
The domain name without the hyphen wasn't available.
 
How many dashes one or more better? For example If I type "furniture-for-sale" 2 dashes after each word, it shows clear result.

But if I use "furniture-forsale" 1 dash, google asked:

Showing results for "furniture-for sale"
Search instead for "furniture-forsale"

Is it matter or not?
