Hello guys,

I found a thread here, where someone explains a method to get some free backlinks from sites like zippyshare. I was wondering would Google penalize such a link to my website? As I have a e-commerce website totally unrelated to zippyshare.

you can contact to the sites which you like, directly. like send them mail or contact us option. they may be replied. it will not cause your sites

Google will penalize if you have n number of inbound links from 3rd party website to your website.

Maybe you can find some relevant website, related to your business and ask them for a link but not more than 5 to 7 links from one website. Its good for your website to improve ranking and authority
 
build links from the related blog that would be good for your site as well ranking also
 
Any unnatural link can be penalized by google, that being said, a lot depends on how well can you make an unrelated link look related :D
 
As long as the sites are legit and not blacklisted you should be find IMHO
 
No then any edu link related to other than education would result in penalties
 
Wordpress has millions on unrelated footer links. They aren't penalised.
 
It can be okay until you don't post 100 links a day

You won't be penalized for a few unrelated links but you won't get too much profit
 
I personally don't think you will get penalised at all, but I do think related backlinks will give you more benefit. Google is getting smarter every update, and it looks to me like it's starting to understand what is relevant and what is not relevant better and better. It's all about user experience for them after all.
 
It depends how many of such links you got. A few won't hurt you at all. Basically website owners got no control over what kinda backlinks they get from other people. Like I could randomly build links for someones site. Someone else could build links to my site. In my opinion Google doesn't give a fuck. If you don't want the backlinks you got you can remove them by disavowing them.
 
As others have said before, I wouldn't care too much if you got a few unrelated backlinks. That's completely fine to have. Those links don't hurt your site (but also help less compared to a niche related backlink).
Just make sure your backlink profile looks natural (a couple unrelated links are completely natural)

People start to discuss it everywhere on different forums and websites from Alaska teachers to Car Lovers or some
It's a common situation and Google won't penalize for that

But you can't get a lot of juice as the quality of backlink is in its relevance

Relevance plays a big role
