will google penalize me?

i checked the pagerank of a lot of urls using scrapebox without any proxies. so google banned my ip address and now i cannot check any pageranks. ( i know this is temporary, that is not my worry).

my worry is that google will now see me as a spammer. I log into analytics and webmaster tools using the same ip address. so they will be like "oh, this site owner is the same site owner who checked the PRs for all those URLs, so he must be a spammer." and boom, my site will be dropped.

Am i just being paranoid or is this a legitimate concern?

Both.

Assuming its the only thing you've done then you're being paranoid but it is a legitimate concern if they are already sniffing around and you get your IP blocked a lot.

I think according to me its an illegal technique and you should stay away from this. You should stop doing this immediately

hey that's not a big problem dude ! i do check page rank and scrape a lot everyday using SB but no impact next time use proxies
