Just wondering if Google+ likes would help to index my tier 1 web 2.0 sites faster?

thanks for the reply's I can confirm it does now. Had 2 sites that were nowhere one is page 2 today and the other is page 6 low comp. emd domains

It does effect and G+ along with other signals are absolutely necessary for all round SEO.

I sent about 30 to each site. Used one of the share like sites found on Google.

Yes it helps bringing the spiders, however there are many more convenient ways of accomplishing that rather than +1s

As per Matt Cutts strategy. Google+ works perfect for SERP improvement. Like Google+ Plus, Reviews from Visitors, Re-share. So, you can try it.

I know from my current backlinking experiments that social signals work GREAT (Facebook and Twitter). I've stayed away from Google+ for the first part of the experiment but I should be back linking from there in a few days time.

In my mind social signals today are as important as PR was back in the day. If you haven't already I'd definitely recommend having at the very least a Facebook page or group for your site.
