Will english linkbuilding help a dutch native site?

Hi guys!

Was hoping you could help me. I am seeying a lot of awesome linkbuilding packages and interested in using this to improve some of my ranking.

The only problem is my website is completely in dutch. Will linkbuilding with articles written in English (but with dutch keywords / and anchors) even help in ranking my site higher in Dutch Google? Also is it recommended to do linkbuilding on keywords which i don't rank on at all. So keywords on which i am not even in the top 100 in Google?

And finally, I own several sites but mainly Blog on one of them. Will duplicating these blogs on those other sites help with the ranking? Or is this not recommended?

I've also a dutch website. Well I did some backlink building with English content on English websites with dutch keywords for my dutch website. I'm now on the first spot in Google for that site. So building backlinks in a other language then you're website does work.

However I believe that it is better to build backlinks in the same language as the website is.

i am in exactly the same spot, also have a dutch niche website and trying to find some good backlinks. Maybe we could chat and perhaps learn from each other. I will send you a pm.
 
Yes for a nationally targeted website English link building can substantially increase rankings for other countries. You should try to gain some backlinks from your Native language, but from our clients that live outside the USA the packages still work very well. Quality and diversity means more than language.
 
And when you deliver your own articles? So Dutch articles, Dutch keywords in it on an English website? Make that better results?
 
Yes, Dutch anchors on English content surely help. You can also target the keywords on which your website is not in top 100 but make sure your content has that phrase.
 
Definitely, I rank most of my websites with UK links rather than .com
 
Dutch links are preferred, not exclusive. I don't see why the English backlinks won't work. As long as you keep a good amount of native Dutch backlinks as well.
 
It depends on your niche, seriously.

If your niche is typically composed of both Dutch and English websites then you should benefit quite a bit from backlinks in the English language.

However, if your niche is primarily in Dutch then you are out of luck.

Make sure to pay attention to the industry's standards as far as backlinks are concerned.

You don't want to put yourself in the situation where you put in all these work only to have very little to show for it.
 
Certainly, it helps if the article written in English and anchor/BL in other languages. As a service provider, we have experienced with such projects and got good results as well..

Linkbuilding will help your site but then again if your whole site is in dutch, the topic of relevance comes into picture. If you want to rank locally it is better to focus more on networking with other local linkbuilders or webmasters since such local links might have higher weight when it comes to ranking in local SERP.

Regarding the duplicating of content to other blogs question, it depends on the authority of those websites. If they have high PA / DA then I would suggest to try it out with a few post of yours and see if it affects the ranking. Also, make sure to use the rel=canonical tag when you do.

In addition to what others have said (that yes, English links will help Dutch sites), it should also be noted that the non-.com versions of Google can tend to be easier to rank in and more lenient about spam. Which is another reason why yes, English links will help you. (Of course, get Dutch links where possible).
 
Links have value independent of the language. Probably "native" links will have more power but still...
