Will ebay give me the b& hammer?

Will I get banned if I've been using a certain IP address but then change to another one? If they are close? If they are far? Ive been having some trouble with my current vps and need to change. Thanks!

I don't see why they would ban you for that. Why are you using VPS to begin with?

Paypal tracks that, so I assume Ebay could too. I suppose it could be a matter of whether sharing accounts is against their TOS (I don't know). If it is, then I'd say they are tracking it.

Not really the same thing. It's when you log in one minute with an IP in the US and then the next minute it's from an IP in China. That sends flags.

I do intend to get an IP from the same state, if not at least the same country, it could be like I moved.

While it's impossible to predict exactly what ebay/paypal will do in any situation you are FAR less likely to get banned if you login using the same machine (i.e, using the same cookies) from a different IP. Many people have dynamic IPs and EBay/PP cannot ban someone just based on a changing IP - too many people would get banned.

I try to keep IP address I use to login to ebay constant but I have logged in to 1 ebay account with multiple IPs in the past and did not have an issue bec of this.

That being said it is possible to use a "bad" IP address (i.e, an IP that's been overused / banned on ebay) and it's hard to differentiate the good from the bad. Therefore, when possible it is best to stick to one IP.

I don't think they would ban you since people change IP addresses to log in all the time for legitimate reasons.

Chaning IPs wouldn't cause any issue as IPs change all the time. If cookies were not erased and the IP changes while doing activity, then it wouldn't do any harm. Only time it can throw off flags is when cookies are constantly cleared along with changes in IP.

You would however get suspended or limited if your IP is coming from foreign countries and you are nowhere located in them.
