Will doing this shut down my Youtube channel?

Hello everyone,

I'm starting a music promoting youtube channel that focuses around the genres of chillhop and lo-fi genres. So I thought I would download some tracks I enjoyed on Soundcloud and upload them in my channel with the name of the artist and a link to their Soundcloud.
Of course this is just so I can finally upload something to begin with so I can start my channel.

Is this legit? Will I be striked because of doing that?

Check the license on the soundcloud downloads. If CC then it's ok. Otherwise your channel will be taken down.

Yes and no. Music channels are one of those things that can go very right or go very wrong, or both. You can magically explode in one month and three weeks later your channel is gone forever. Just don't be surprised if your channel is taken down. Don't connect multiple channels with that account either.

Thanks I just found a way to get tracks for commercial use on Soundcloud.

Are they letting you download the song for free, or is the song copyright free? You can download any song for free, or you could buy it, but that doesn't mean you can upload it to YouTube. Look for 'copyright free' or 'royalty free tracks' and double check the licensing agreements.

FYI, I'd advise you don't upload multiple music videos in a day while you're first starting out. We recently had all of our music channels terminated even though we had the rights to the music and our videos were origional. Music is tough on YouTube, if you do something that seems slightly unauthentic then the algorithm will fuck you. I've only ever had such problems with the music niche.
