Will Commenting On These Blogs Still Help Me?

Let's say I was trying to rank for the keyword "big money online".

I comment on a blog with the name "Jeff", and the link "bigmoneyonline.com".

Note, I did not use the keyword "big money online" as my name, because the blog would mark it as spam.

Will simply having my sites link without the anchor text help me at all (SEO wise)?

yeah a link is a link, it just won't necessarily help you more for that keyword as opposed to using the anchor text.
 
In theory it should, but in reality tons of spammers do this and just look around on this site, a lot of spammers get nailed by google. I would THINK that if you legitimately comment and toss your link out there it would be okay.

Also, remember they can nofollow you as well. Not that it's a total wash but it won't help for search engines directly.
 
I have started commenting WITH my keyword as my name, I mean I don't want them to know my friggin name and I am making a VALUABLE comment on all the pages I visit not something like "Hey nice post." So there is no reason to consider it spam. But that is my thought process, you will get a link anyways why would a blog owner care if your name is make big money online? Only if they are a prick should they care.
 
Well frankly, if a user had the name as blatant as Make Big Money, I can only assume they are here for a backlink. Thats just my thought process. As a webmaster/blog owner I would be immediately skeptical.

Yea but what other reason are you putting the website field in? Answer is there really isn't a GOOD reason to put that field in there unless you want a backlink to your page.

I see it all the time though and know what they are doing (who doesn't?) and if they add some keyword density to my page, like saying I really like how you explain how to make big money online you really break it down for us average Joe's. Would that be a bad comment? No I would approve it as long as his name wasn't something amazingly offensive rofl.

I know it's just one example with the keyword "cash" but it's important to remember trying to qualify for a key phrase to have less competition, such as "making money".

For lack of anchor text your link will not help much for your keyword will add more to increase PR, is . Weight distribution PR of the link will be all over the page and not only keywords

Yes it is a good tactic to use your name in front and then your keyword, so the administrator will not worry so much detail, but you will have more success if you make a comment very relevant to the blog. So you can be sure that the moderator will not delete it.

PR Backlink Generator, found in the download section, is what I use in general. It makes this too easy, I refuse to spam sites but I read what they say and make a valuable comment like I said above.

If anyone is NOT blog commenting I suggest searching for this tool in the downloads section its amazing, not the most powerful tool I have seen but its too easy to get these backlinks. Just make sure you add some value to their page, then they won't mind that you are getting a link in return.
