I have a website on a niche that has 10 different products in it.

I built this website 2 years ago before I knew how to build an authority website.

As I didn't know better I created this as a niche site.

So the homepage has a few hundred words on each product in a skyscraper style.

The homepage has thousands of words and I am thinking that it may hold the inner product pages back ranking wise. Do you think this sounds about right?

Anyway, I now know that just 10 images on the homepage without text, linking to the products is a better way to go.

Now I am worried that if I remove the text and replace with simple images I might lose rankings?

Is this a genuine worry or stupid?

My rankings at present are not great tbh but it gets me a few hundred dollars a month which I do rely on so I don't want to lose this.

What are your thoughts please guys?

It's worth a shot - the rankings may drop a little for a period of time but if it increases the ctr and conversion rate then why not try?

I assume it's your homepage that is currently ranking for your keywords and not the inner pages?

The title matters a great deal, both for search engines, as well as for the readers. Before deciding on a title it is important to strike the right balance between readability and seo friendliness. If your post has been published for a while with a particular title, and you either do not like the title that much, or the post is not ranking that well, then I would try to edit the title so as to make an improvement hopefully.

However if you are happy with the ranking I would suggest leaving the title as it is as a significant change could lead to a change in ranking. I do not think it is good for change keyword Frequently in title tag. It may affect for your SEO result. Better is if you want to add any new keywords, create a fresh content and use new title and key tag on new page. It should help very much rather change title tag which already good position on Google or other search engine. But eventually If you think you did not add correct title on that, you could edit little bit.

@ggeorgiasmart OP hasn't mentioned the title tag, he is talking about removing text from the homepage.

@cozziola it's hard to advise without more information, but assuming your homepage is the one ranking for these phrases I would suggest following this strategy for just one of your products and see what happens before doing it for any others. That way, you are able to test the strategy without losing all rankings and revenue if it fails.
